A renewed commitment to the future
Marie Barsacq acknowledged this renewal:
I am delighted to be able to renew the Ministry's confidence in Fabien Canu as head of INSEP. Over the past four years, he has perfectly fulfilled the mission entrusted to him by making INSEP an essential part of the preparation of our champions: more than half of the French medallists at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games trained within the Grand INSEP network. Fabien knows that the path to high performance requires constant self-questioning, and I know I can count on him to continue making INSEP an institute of excellence for our athletes."
Fabien Canu expressed his gratitude and determination:
Strengthened by the momentum of the Paris 2024 Games, we will work together to meet the challenges ahead: preparing for the next Olympic and Paralympic Games, supporting each athlete in their training programme, and placing their physical integrity and well-being at the heart of our priorities. INSEP will be more committed than ever to supporting the champions of today and tomorrow."
Towards the 2028 Games and beyond
This new mandate will be marked by preparations for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles and other major international competitions in the coming years.
