INSEP and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University sign memorandum of understanding

On June 12th, INSEP General Manager Fabien Canus travelled to Benguérir, Morocco, to officially sign the memorandum of understanding between INSEP and Université Mohammed VI Polytechnique (UM6P).

In the presence of French Ambassador to Morocco Christophe Lecourtier, Consul General Stéphane Baumgarth and UM6P President Hicham El Habti, the signing officially launched the collaboration between these two key players in their ecosystem. Under the terms of the agreement, INSEP will support the structuring and deployment of UM6P's Lycée d'excellence sportive in Rabat.

This new structure, focused on sporting and academic excellence, has already been advised on a number of issues:

  • creating a benchmark establishment on a national and continental scale and promoting sporting excellence, by offering talented athletes the resources to perform in their discipline while benefiting from excellent teaching
  • cevelop a socially-diverse Moroccan sporting elite, giving deserving youngsters access to national and international support for their sporting and academic careers
  • eventually, an open education platform of excellence will be set up to train African youth.

The UM6P's Lycée d'excellence Polytechnique de Rabat will open its doors at the start of the 2023/2024 academic year, and will be able to draw on INSEP's expertise to guarantee its young elite athletes an environment favorable to academic and sporting success.
